I was gonna buy one of the 3" Pythons 12 years ago for $1k, but I hesitated and one guy bought it out from under me. I could have made a tidy profit on it frown

Yep, that you could have, tex. I occasionally see them come through FFL transfers at my LGS while I'm there. Don't believe I've seen one that was less than $2200.

That's nothing. I had a guy call the shop on Tuesday who said he got a nice Python for practically nothing, his words. He later disclosed that practically nothing was $1100, which isn't practically nothing to me but that's okay. He went on to say that he would probably be able to double his money on it now because he had it looking real nice after he'd spent 4 hours polishing it with his Dremel! smile
