I have a Vari X II from about '77 or '78 that isn't quite up to snuff in the clarity/brightness department as the newer scopes. Was on Leupolds site the other day and saw that they will rebuild/freshen up your old scope.
Has anybody used this service and if so what all did you have done? Pleased with the outcome?

They'll refurb for free. If not refurbish able they'll give you a new scope. Only cost is postage to send it in.
While they have it, now is the time to retro fit a different reticle if you so wish. Cost is $60.00.

Or take it hunting on a rocky slope and try not to drop it. But, if you do, you get a new VX-2 out of the deal.

Want to try and keep the original. It has been on the gun since new when dad purchased it in late '70s. I do like the idea of a different reticle though.

If memory serves less than two wks. not now. My M8 was delivered on June 24th and was received in their system on June 30th and was not scheduled to be evaluated by a technician till last Wednesday. When I talked to their CS guy on the phone was told they were extremely busy and very far behind.

I'm wandering because I sent in a scope for a check-up. They received it last Friday and the haven't contacted me. Not worried, just curious.

I got an email today saying it had been entered in there system and that it would take up to 24 days.
