Yep! It's an awesome low recoil cartridge. I'm really enjoying it! Shooting 140gr Berger hybrids. Mine is built on a m70wsm action.
I'm sure Pat will respond. His rifles are amazing!!

Thanks! How's brass availability in general? I see GAP is currently out.... think that's temporary?

make your own brass. The Hornady doesnt stack up to the others.

I had one built by GAP, it's an awesome cartridge. Last year was my first season using it, 3 coyotes, 2 whitetail bucks and a big bull elk (at 417 yards), all DRT using 130 Berger VLD's. Check out Copper Creek Ammo for brass.

Gotcha, and thanks, but I'm tired of chasing brass... I'm basing future builds on brass availability as a go/no go in the decision tree.

Edit: well, let me ask this then. Some quick googling doesn't turn up SAUM brass; is it out there, easy to buy?

Not hard to find if you are going to make your own 6.5's.

I haven't tried the Hornady brass. They had trouble with it on the first batch. I've only used Norma and Remington with no issues.

Lol.....he could have searched for minutes and read for hours. Maybe he wants attention?

I would say it's not too uncommon and several guys here have them ironed out. Then again I said same thing about 6 creed and was told how full of chit I am.

I'd suggest a short action but that's a big no no.

I have searched. It is discussed at some length on the LRH forum. I also appreciate the opinions of folks here. A short action it will be, maybe even a M7.

Thanks for the help guys. I like the sound of this one, as I keep stepping the recoil down in my shooting. Getting old or some shït. smile

Thanks again.

Most guys running them in a short action are using modified AI mags to get the extra COAL capability. Not sure how that works with a model 7...

Jeff,
The LRH forum doesn't have much. Go over to snipers hide. George, Scott and Pat have posted a lot of info there as a lot of guys also use the 4S for comps.

I believe GAP is using a new Badger DBM bottom metal for the M7 action.
