I had a couple Winchester model 50's, keep the chamber clean. I transitioned to Super X model 1......best shotgun ever made in America.

Now you need a 59!
Nice model 50 you got there!

Nice model 50 you got there! I was thinking more along the lines of a 50's era Model 12 in 16 gauge or another Model 50 in 20 gauge. A Stevens/Savage Model 77 in .410 (or its Coast to Coast branded version) is on the must buy list as well.

That would work! Damn I sold a really nice model 12, 12 ga. 1959 vintage this past spring! It was pretty nice.

Cool old shotgun. Nice grab..
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Seems like the prices on model 12's keep coming down. There is no reason anyone who wants a great shotgun shouldn't have one.

Had to "pull the trigger" on this one too. I found another one for about the same price but with a pretty, pretty stock. http://www.gunbroker.com/item/570974817

That's very nice. Several years ago seems like we had Model 50's coming out of the woodwork at the shop. Folks either selling or trading up. I think we had like 10 at one time on the used rack.
