I was on Speer's website and happened to look at their 2016 catalog. The 120gr Hot Core and GS were not listed...

I emailed Speer and they confirmed that these have been discontinued. There may be others, but I have not checked..

This is strike three for me and Speer, following their Deep Shock and Deep Curl debacles.

And coupled with Hornady's discontinuance of the 100 and 120gr Interlocks, it's not been a good year for 25 cal fans mad

What is this "Speer" you mention? Sounds almost like a bullet manufacturer.

southtexas,

I realize you looked at their catalog and also emailed them. I'm guessing they really need to update their online stuff then as I just found this:

http://www.speer-bullets.com/ballistics/detail.aspx?id=279

Their GS 120 is still listed in the online version also.

Enough to drive a guy nuts.

I just looked at the catalog and at least the flat point 75 gr ones are still listed. I better buy 500 or so when I find them as the work good in one application I have.

Thanks for the heads up,

Geno

PS, that catalog is not user friendly/intuitive to this old timer. mad

Just one more reason I switched and never looked back.

I hate to hear that because the 120gr Hot-Cor is a great deer bullet. I've been using it for as long as I can remember with excellent results. Thankfully I have a pretty good stock built up and should be good to go for a while. Should i run out i'll jump over to the Sierra 117gr PH and the Nosler 115gr BT, both of these have also been great performers for me in the 25.06.

When news hit that Hornady was dropping Interloks I placed Speer 25 cal 100 and 120's in inventory, all flat based, thinking they would be next to disappear, and also managed to get a bunch of Interloks.

I'm good for years, especially now that I'm shooting more 357 magnum in revolvers and lever actions.

I haven't seen any bad news for quarter bores. They still make plenty of Nosler and Barnes bullets.

Yep the 117 BTIL Horn and 90 gr GMX too.

Good [bleep] Maynard.

Not to mention Speer discontinued their whole hot Cor line just recently and here we are.

When I heard the 100 IL was going I bought every one I could find. Between that & the fact that I get 100 gr Prvi SPs from Grafs for practice and I'm set with a lifetime supply.

If you believe anything Speer says and really love that bullet buy up every box you see available.

My son and I went to range today with the 25-06 and the 250
-3000 going through 42 rounds of Hornady 100 gr interlock in both rifles.

I only have 2 boxes left of the Hornady 100 gr IL so I better be more frugal with my ammo.

When I run out of slams I'm switching to 110 accubonds. I shoot them in my 257 Weatherby.

How do the 100gr Sierra Pro Hunters hold up at 3100 in a 257 Bob?
