I've fired 150gr factory loads from Winchester, Federal and Remington which ranged from 1.1" to 1.4" at 100 yards. Handloading was limited to 125gr Sierra Pro Hunters which managed 2962fps and 3 shots in .87" at 100yds using Reloder7, and 150gr Speer Grand Slams with Reloder15 I wound up with 3 shots in .96" at 2638fps. For me, that's good shooting. Gun has a 3x9 Redfield widefield scope and a Redfield base with a flip-down peep at the rear which would require removal of the scope. Bore is clean to me, however I do not have a Hawkeye for a closer look. Brass counter does not stop exactly on each of the numbers. I'm told this is not unusual, and the gun feeds shells just fine. I bought it back from the buyer: he already had 2 EG's in .300 and wound up swapping on a scope of his own then parking it in his safe. He re-installed the Redfield and sold it back, I worked up some loadings for the Speer TNT varmint bullet, and took it one one deer hunt in the late season where all the deer I saw were running. $550 shipped to your FFL in the continental US Last edited by kgb41; 07/24/16.
