I have a Lyman 2.5 Alaskan scope with a post and crosshair. Its on a old Redfield mount for a Winchester standard Model 70.

I want to sell it if it has any value. Tried looking it up and the prices on Ebay were ridiculous they can't be worth that much. I know some people are using them on springfield A4 and M1's to try to build a period sniper rig though it sounds like the military never really used them.

any how any guidance on price would be welcome. The scope seems to be in good shape.

Ive seen them at Military collector shows by me for around $250. At Guns shows here they jump up to $300+. I would call it anywhere from $200-$275 is a fair selling price if it has decent clarity left.

I got $200 for the last one I sold (kept the other for a rainy day), and thought I did ok. You're right, the jokers on ebay who price them at $4-500 are aiming for the WWII Tacti-cool crowd and their sniper rifle builds. (Funny how there are now a lot more 1903A4, M1C, M1D rifles around than there were 70 years ago...)
