How much do you hate yourself and want to punish yourself?

Otherwise get the Rigby, cause its cooler....

The CZ magnum action is really just the right size for the Rigby cartridge. It is a little large for cartridges like the .458 Lott.

I had both while preparing for a cape buffalo hunt in Africa last year.

The 458 Lott was an AHR version of the CZ 550 Magnum.

The 416 Rigby was a Dakota 76.

I am not a fan of muzzle brakes, and the Rigby proved to be much more "fun" to shoot than the Lott. I peddled the Lott and took the Rigby on Safari. It did a fine job on a bull at 60 yards, with the first shot putting it on the ground.

Obviously, the 416 Rigby gets my vote.

Hunter, If those are the only choices I'd go Rigby. That 25" barrel would be very unwieldy for me. I went 416 Rem for several reasons. But the Rigby sings a siren of Africa and all that goes with it. Have a great trip.

Why does a man who is 50 pounds overweight complain about a 10 pound rifle being too heavy?

Jeez, man. Why wonder about ballistics? Look them up.

375 H&H will get'er done, too.

What is the application?

For the animals that a .416 and .458 are used on,comparing ballistics of the two a waste of time.

A .460 works quite well on bunny rabbits.
