I'm taking a tuna trip with Mark Youngblood as well, next month

Unfortunately, I have Glaucoma and the eye drops I use daily are not compatible with "the patch" and OTC meds do nothing but make me tired. I've also tried Phenegran and it doesn't work for me.

Going out of Hatteras and Outer Banks this month!! Mahi's are running strong right now. Blues and Tuna as well. Can't wait.

Bonine works to prevent sea sickness/motion sickness for my wife and daughter, who have very weak stomachs. It does not make either of them sleepy like some of the other OTC meds.

The most effective anti-seasickness drug I have taken is Stugeron, available just about everywhere except US.

forty years of rough water fishing and I find that grated fresh ginger in a bottle of water and some sugar works very well for nausea. And some bonine the night before and one tab when you leave the docks

Ive spent a goodly amount of time on boats. Worked on seiners and long line fishing vessels in some rough water.

First time I ever got seasick was about 11 months ago. Hardly any swell, but a goodly wind chop had me chumming. Didn't go full green, but never felt right, even after yelling over the gunnel. Lol.

The subject of sea sickness could be a topic all in of itself. I found what you consume before hitting the seas has a huge impact on the chances of hurling in the open waters.

While it's only happened to me a couple of times it usually was the result of heavy drinking the night before.

Saltines, apple sauce, ginger ale and jello are all good things to always have on-board.

Again, that is a really nice catch. The more I look at the pics the more ready I am to get going!!

We had about a two hour run out where I was sitting in a bean bag against the stern. I think a good dose of CO and fumes sent me down the path.

BYC- the albacore fishing out here is a blast. Get on a good bite and you can plug a boat in a hurry!

I've tried it (more than once) and may as well have eaten Tic-Tacs. I not only get sick on board, I'm sick for a couple of days afterward, like miserable sick.

As long as I don't have a couple bottles of wine with dinner on the boat, Bonine works for me.

We only landed one and lost one tuna, but not for lack of trying and Mark is great. From Westport to Girabaldi, 30-55 miles out the other charters he talked to struck out too like the tuna just moved out. One boat had 3, I think two had 1, two had none,  we had 1. One boat that went all the way 65 miles out got 11. Just aren't there. But I'll book with Mark again for sure.
