He'll need to win another 300 million raffles before he makes a dent.

Sounds like the local FONRA committee needs to visit the pastor before his bishop takes away the checkbook. Get plenty of that anti-gun money and use it to protect the right to bear arms.

My pastor told me this last week that he carries in church, and that I could to if I wanted. Apparently, there are quite a few guys carrying.

This isn't the church that some nut job is going to get a free shoot in.

If I ever go back to a organized church I will pack. I probably won't go back but a man should never say never.

Modern day false prophets (profit).

It's not like the Episcopal Church is a real religion anyway.

Their history is rife with making exceptions to the rules while still calling themselves "Christian".

They need to lose their non-profit status and start paying taxes on everything they take in and own if they want to start abridging others' freedoms.

I've always carried in church, every church. I kept it between God and myself.

Who cares. I don't go to his church.

He only has to answer to his flock.

It's the church's money, the church owns the rifle, not the minister. The board of elders, deacons, or however that church is set up, needs to step in and claim it. If nothing else, they should raffle it off again to raise even more money for the team. Then they need to have a long serious talk with their thieving minister about who discretionary funds belong to.

Rock Chuck;
Good evening to you sir, I trust this finds you well and keeping cool enough.

I'm totally out of the loop as far as what the Episcopal folks believe anymore and how they run their denomination or individual churches.

As a former board member, church member and long time adherent of the evangelical church we've been attending for 35 odd years I can assure you that if any of the pastoral staff did that with the discretionary funds they'd be lucky to remain employed there.

Honestly we try our best to stay out of political issues in our denomination - admittedly making for some interesting moments as there's folks from both sides of the spectrum worshiping there.

One time in particular I recall a car in the parking lot with some sort of anti-trapping bumper sticker which was parked a car or two away from a local trapper. wink

Anyway from here its tough for me to say why this chap chose to take money which should have been earmarked for folks in need and instead used it for what might be termed "gambling" by some folks....

All the best to you folks for the remainder of the summer Rock Chuck.

Dwayne

I have 2 that I'll raffle off to him for 3 grand. cool

We would forgive him for taking the discretionary funds since it was going to a good cause, but I doubt he would get much sympathy for paying that much for just one AR. If he destroyed the Church's AR, he likely wouldn't be allowed to keep his job.

He can do anything he wants with it.
