What is your experience with Savage A17. I am interested in accuracy and feeding ammo.

I hear they are releasing versions in both 22 Mag and 22LR...that's all I really know about it other than it's supposed to handle 17HMR with no case ruptures or other hiccups.

I have one. The accuracy has been excellent, with 3 shot groups at 100 usually around 5/8" and some just under 1/2". I have not had one failure to feed or failure to fire. It has been fired around 100 times, using Savage A17 ammo, though I expect the same results with any .17 HMR ammo. No issues with case rupturing.

I already has a Ruger 10/22 compact in 22LR compact and would buy it again just because of the amount of aftermarket parts available. I also just bought a 22 Mag, but even though I like the A17, I bought a CZ 512 Tactical. Due to a medical condition, I really like pistol grip guns, I need a short LOP so the collapsible stock and Picatinny rail are a plus. Both the Ruger and CZ are threaded for my suppressors and have 16.5" barrels. Finally shot the CZ 512 this week. It was plenty accurate for me, putting 9 shots in 15/16" at 50 yds, and 10 shots in 1.5" with one where I jerked the trigger.
