Hornaday 140 gr spbt has been the most accurate bullett in a mix of 7 270's and 270wsm's. Great performance on deer and elk. I have forgotten the exact charge of h4831 but do remember it was pretty close to book max.
YMMV, Fred

Not magic, but I have worked up a load for my .270 WSM which uses the 130 gr. Nosler E-Tip ahead of RL-22 powder, for a MV of 3317 fps. average. Works very well on long-range deer- last two were whitetails taken at 311 and 341 yards. Load is very accurate.

Max load of R25 with either the 140 Inter or accubond smacks them pretty well. Have only shot deer (3 types) and hogs but wouldn't hesitate if an Elk walked out in front of me.
Next up will be to see if I can duplicate or slightly exceed this with Reloder 26. If just starting out I would go with R26 first to gain a little more consistency, maybe extra velocity, and copper cleaner too.
Here's a link to the Alliant data:http://www.alliantpowder.com/reloaders/powderlist.aspx?type=1&powderid=40&cartridge=64
R26 doesn't really smoke R22 & 25 but easily equals them with the above advantages if it is accurate in your rifle.

Retumbo and Nosler 150 grain BT's have proven best combo in my Remington SPS. Near max load of powder so work up. I am getting 3 shot 1/2" groups with that load. H4831sc worked well with 140 grain B T's. and IMR 4350 worked very well with 130 grain Partitions. All loads were under 1 inch and in my rifle.

My Winchester shoots 140 grain Gamekings and 140 grain Accubonds VERY well over some IMR-4350. These are the first loads that I have tried in it, and I have never had to try anything else.
