I quit going to AOD. There are some great and knowledgeable guys there but the stupid factor and heavy moderation doesn't fit my style. The Alaska forum of the campfire has the kind of people and knowledge that better suits my personality.

Murphy claims to be a "ballistics engineer" and makes very basic mistakes regularly. He edited his idiot claims twice in one case and made very basic mistakes in both edits. He then deleted the posts. The posts involved twist rates and bullet stabilization.
He made very stupid claims like there is a "force" that would move dry salt around in a safe... while claiming to have a degree, possibly a MS, in Physics...

Just funny to see folks complaining so much about another forum, when you could just stop visiting it. Beatty of the interweb. You can shut it off! Of course, it's all great entertainment.... Virtually everyone has stopped going to the site... and which is better: Aod where posters regularly post things they know nothing about... or here where they actually have been to AOD and post facts... and where idiots will be straightened out? the bad part about the AOD is if you get burned by a transporter, guide etc you can't post about it and give people a heads up. They say they do it so they cant get sued... The wanna be state troopers gets tiring. Last year a guy shot a moose with his family all their. Everyone was telling him congrats until the internet brown shirt showed up and said he shot it on a driveable surface...

I've been turned off not only by the censorship, but the fact there are literally over 100 bullshit forums to scroll through. I was a member since '05, but have all but quit posting there.
I like it here and miss the old pristine ventures forum too. A lot of those guys are on here too though.
