Excellent little craft. Amazing job by Riley!

Good stuff. Did he build that boat? I've been wanting something like that for a while now.

Good stuff. Did he build that boat? I've been wanting something like that for a while now. He and a buddy built both of those from less than scratch... lofted their own plans using an entirely different strategy from any other minis being built and have upgraded and polished their boats ever since. Riley's boat will easily do 40 upriver with two aboard. Jet Ski engine and fairly light aluminum hull completely covered with UHMW up to the waterline.

That drone video is awesome! Yeah, that was impressive. I know exactly where they were and it still looked impossible from that angle to be where they were.

Enjoyed the heck out of that. Riley's doing it right
Happy for him
I'm pretty certain when we sing our anthem and mention the land of the free, the original intent didn't mean cell phones, food stamps and birth control.

Ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene. Super tough and slicker than snot. Used on bottoms of drift boats, jet boats, etc. Same basic material used in total joint prosthetics. Cool stuff.

It's in sheet form. I've seen it in 3/16" to multiple inches thick. Art, did Riley and his buddy use 1/4" UHMW on the mini jet boats?

Thanks Art. I'm looking to skin the bottom of my wood/epoxy semi-V sled with UHMW sheet, and I'm not sure what thickness I'll use when I get to that point.

Didn't realize they'd designed them as well as built them. One of those mini jets is my next boat project, well after I do some maintenance and mods to the ocean boat.

And snowmachine skis, slide rail 'hy-fax', etc. (5000 miles on the hy-fax easy, and over 20K on skis under some pretty rotten conditions; heavy, but generally worth it's weight.)
Sometimes, the air you 'let in'matters less than the air you 'let out'.
