You've got good taste geedubya. I always like your Sako pics. You just don't stumble across the older ones in my neck of the woods. I've been most fortunate in that I've had a number of Sakos follow me home............... Circa 1955 vintage Sako Riihimaki, 222 Rem. My go to Turkey-gittter. Sako 75 Hunter I purchased from Handwerk that started life out as a 30-06 Springfield, which he had bored to 9.3 x 62. Sako L461 Vixen in the heavy barrel Varmint config., 222 Rem. one of my first and favorite Sakos, an L61R "varmint" in 7 mag. a Custom AIII in 7mm-08, smithed by IT&D Custom Guns on the bottom and a 222 Rem Mag on top! ya! GWB

I have never regretted selling any rifle, They make them every day so I dont worry about it, if I want another one ill just go buy it............Hb Until they don't. Learned that the hard way. there still should be nice used models available, dont sweat it, look on gunbroker or gunsamerica you will shortly find what your looking for and then just buy another one.........Hb

I've tried numerous tools such as the Wyoming knife and the Gerber EZ zip. I'm always nicking myself with the backside blade on the Wyoming knife, and it and the Gerber ez Zip are somewhat fragile. This one is my favorite and the handle is of sufficient size and construction to get a good grip and pull. It's by Browning and it flat works for unzipping hoglets.......... http://www.brownells.com/emergency-...p;gdfms=E3B2C091AA034546B5C86BFD0336480Bya! GWB

My 85s shoot lights out, and they are dependable. I really feel comfortable carrying one in the field.

I truly wish they would import a Bavarian Carbine in 8mm Mauser. Of the rounds it is made in, the combo seems like a perfect match but they don't import that one...

Finding one isn't the issue, I would like to find one at a substantial discount, which I doubt happens often. We all want what we want at substantial discounts. However, except for rare finds, that which is in demand is usuallt most expensive...for good reason.

You guys would laugh at how cheap these are in Norway. They are half the price. A Weatherby Vanguard is more expensive than a Sako there.

I spend a fair bit of time on the European hunting forum Stalking Directory. On that site they gush over Sakos and don't have much good to say about US made rifles(Vagaurd Japanese). It's a gentlemen's game over there though. They own fewer Guns but of higher quality from what I gleaned.

Those Bavarians are works of art. The stocks are made in Germany.
