I will not Participate...
After 2 years of consecutive solid entries I am pulling back.
I refuse to participate in the Pay to Play Clintonian system that is, apparently, the law of the land.
What are we teaching our children when we allow Whiskey to be exchanged for position.
My poor daughter shot her first buck...first deer for that matter, in the neck, with a RARR, in 300BLK...and had the hippies call the cops on her!
That's a clear win, but since she is under the legal age to purchase Bourbon she couldn't submit a bribe and lost.
What's become of the honorable competition? Nay, this country?

And for Ringworm. GFY.

If you can't warm up to the American Way of doing things then I would refuse your entry anyway.

Or if I was Hillary, I would not postpone your suicide.

You could've taken her by a moonshiner, then.

The whole dinkathon thing is just a running joke.....I hope....At least, well, the bribes I buy, uhhh, I kinda just keep them for myself.

You'll be fine this year. Ingwe finally recognized his inner gay and bought a 6.8spc (the 'metric' gay version of the 270 WCF). whistle

The 6.8 is Tacticool..its not gay.

The .270 is a prime example of Gay Overcompensation.

Any entries submitted by .270 shooters will require significant extra bribes.

Saw one last night that still had spots on it, and was WAY small to get rid of those in less than 45 days.

That might just win it, even without a bribe.

85 gr bullet and 10-15 gr. of H322... we wouldn't want it to over-penetrate. Or, bruise the shooters shoulder.

No. Theres deductions for bows or crossbows. The Judge sees too many of them misused on Bubbavision.

Figured the bribe part was mandatory.

How is this for a bribe,I will not make fun of your age, looks, size or cartridge selection for a whole hour. Do I win now?

I am bound and determined to submit a winning entry this year. I haven't killed a bambi since this contest began, but this year will be different, even if I have to chase the little bastid across both sides of the freeway, under the bridge and hit him with my truc.......with my .375 Magnum Shoulderbuster.

To that end, who should I forward several cases of fine booze and good beer to in order to secure my spot in the judging process? Also, where is you car, and when did you want me to wash and wax it?

As for taking your wife to scrapbooking classes, and watching every episode of The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, and several soap operas, I'm sorry but I have to draw the line there..........

Dear The Judge,

So glad to hear your wife's not into that drivel on TV. It's bad enough I have to sit through that when my wife's home. The worst part is, she expects "conjugal visits" afterwards.........

As for the beer and booze, sorry, but I drank it all after sitting through a 4 hour marathon of the Jerry Springer Show, followed by 4 hours of The View. The conjugal visits didn't even seem that bad, as I was able to finally shut off the danged TV. I guess everyone's gotta take one for the team once in a while......

Ingwe,

There's a package coming your way to the address listed above. Enclosed you will find one case of pre-lubed rubbers and a 5 gallon vat of chap stick. If you're going to screw us, please suit up and at least kiss our azzes when your done.

The aforementioned bribe payments of whiskey and beer are on the way. The car wash will be done at your convenience.

Most sincerely,

The "bribe" master.

Anyone noticing the similarities between The "Poobah" and the not for profit "ingwe Foundation"

Not too different than another 'pay for play' scheme making headlines lately.

Coincidence?

Idaho's too far north to have true micro-deer. We need a handicap system for latitude.

Overall size of deer is not as important as antler size. Should be some dinky bucks someplace in Idaho....Ive shot little ones in Montana, but granted, they were wayyyyyy to big to even place in the Dinkathon.

Example....

By Dinkathon standards, that's got Boone and Crockett written all over it, and how do you go about bribing yourself? One method comes to mind, but I cant imagine you're quite that flexible any more.......

Here's what works for me.

1. Buy the "bribe".
2. Buy the shipping container.
3. Buy the packaging material.
4. Package aforementioned bribe.
5. Set said package aside until Dinkathon is near the end.

By then, you will have rethought the bribe, or run low on regular stock. That package is a lot closer than the store....

And, it's comforting to know that when one goes, he will have a few turds to smoke. At least, he tells me I will.

I wonder, because sometimes I question his honesty. I should've won one time except somebody sent in a picture of "junk", and I wondered about that for a long time, well, until he bought a 6.8.......

Ingwe, you do realize that real .270 bullets start at 130 grs. Anything lower is for little girls and old men. wink

A) I AM an old man...and

B) Anything over 110 grains is overcompensating on any Freudian scale.

I'd argue with ya, but you kinda have Phil Shoemaker on your side.

You're lucky....this time....

Damn, I just thought about it.

Hell, he may win the Dinkathon this year without even shooting a deer, if big animal/small bullet is a parameter.

I always tried big bullet/little animal....

I would have to think that if the owner of a nice Weatherby happened to accidentally drop several cases of choice hooch off the bumper of his truck, totally by accident of course, in the Poob's driveway, he might reconsider the "no Weatherby winner" clause.......

Can the winner use an original Weatherby rifle on a genuine FN Mauser action? Or maybe a custom .270 on a pre-'64 Model 70 Winchester action?

How about a Handi-Rifle in .30-30?

Thats all good. Just so long as its not a Mark V.

There is a separate category for .270s......

So,if I was to kill a legal buck here in New Mexico with a .300 Wby,it's all good as long as it's not a Mark V.

I still think 180's at 3300fps deserve some style points. Assuming I find enough parts of the dink to enter, of course smirk

Would it be acceptable to shoot my dink from a newly erected blind consisting of a school bus sitting atop a former fuel tank?
IF I use a .270?
I could even use my Red Rider to put it down for good after running up to it??

I also use an overnite service for shipping bourbon/bribes

There once was a dink
Whose little hiney did stink.
His Mama said “Son,I think
You need to run, not walk.
To where the Ingwe doth stalk.
Your nasty azz will get shot,
Oh how great,
To die from a 6.8!”

You are welcome.

I had two likely candidates in the front yard this morning. Maybe all of 50 lbs with fading spots. Poobs, how 'bout just taking my word for it-I could have whacked them with a wiffle ball bat fercryin' outloud. Gratuitous bribes can and will be passed under, over, and across the table for consideration..............

Buy the bundle tag deal (one buck, two does).
Could zip a decent doe in archery, then pop a nice buck in gun........and then try for a trophy dink.
We can self check-in deer now, no need to go to processor/station and show off.

Thanks. Kinda fond of Blackwidow recurves.
Had 3 built, owned 3 used metal riser models.
Currently run a '72 HF1225.
Would like another HS58.........but don't need it.
One in pic was not FF rated, and was 60#.
Shoulda kept it, but on some days it was a little more than I liked.

A recurve dink, even at 25 yards and hitting where aimed.........is still a dink.

The bow was cool, but it did wear a stabilizer, a K tech with Mathews S coil module. Did help balance and took a little noise out. Was tolerable without it though.

The HF 1225 wears no stabilizer.

Ahem.. the 6.8 spc is a runt .270. whistle

I'd buy Weatherby long before a Remington 700. wink

I'd buy a Winchester M 70 or Mauser 98 long before I'd buy either of the above. grin

You got one out of three mostly right.

the .270 is for those wanting to shoot a .277 cal bullet, but also wanting to overcompensate.

The 6.8 is for those secure in their masculinity.

The 6.8 is for those tired of getting beat up for the overcompensation, though with the smaller round, very little is lost in TG.

I am sensing a great deal of animosity building up towards The Judge...even before the Dink-a-thon begins this year.

How dare you equate the Participants of the Dinkathon with the Participants of the Special Olympics.

You are being needlessly rude to the S.O. Participants, and quite possibly insulting their intelligence!!

The last few years I've shot tender vittles type button bucks because they taste so dang good. I'll have to enter this years contestant for consideration.

I think we could swing that. The Model 14 pictured above did finish a pig in Tennessee, a couple years ago. The recently arrived Model 25 would work for skinning one, however. smile

Sadly, I won't be able to win the Dinkathon this year. I took a nice 8 pt. buck this morning. I'm sure the Dinkathon faithful are breathing a sigh of relief knowing that I'm out of the running. Poobs, just give me credit for this year's bribes against next year's contest. I just know there's a little one out there with my name written all over it!

I could have blasted a retard buck this evening...a spike mulie with only one antler. The one antler was maybe 4-5 inches long and bent forward and down at the base, covering his eye.

I will bet he weighed 70 pounds and with momma nowhere to be found, he was a bit curious about me.

Dink-a-thon, here I come! Heading up to my lease on Friday. Hope to get a couple-three days on stand, maybe slay a serious dink for fresh sausage at my favorite sausage meat processor.

Since I can't do any reloading this year, I'll probably not do any handgun hunting... but you never know. I'll likely take my 6" S&W M586 along this trip for just-in-case purposes, but my main shooting on stand will be with my lately acquired Savage M99 358 Win. Not that I need a .358 to kill a Texas dink, but I ain't killed nothing with it yet and it needs some blood on it before next spring's bear hunt.

Dayom. I am seriously excited to get hunting season finally... after getting my WY hunt quashed in October, I'm seriously due.

So, being late to this party... what's the rules? Not that I care, really, I plan to lose anyway.

Oh, Poobah, btw... I don't got no leopard print thongs... but I'll be wearin' my lucky pair of bright yellow boxers with the Xmas lights pattern... will that suffice? Are there extra style points for wearin' 'ems over top of my pants?

Not answering for the Poobs, but here are some guidelines.

1. Visible antlers above hairline--cut hair if needed.
2. It is advisable to take pictures of "junk", dunno why, but Poobs has hinted that it might help.
3. 6.8 is the hot new caliber (.270 lite). Might be tied in to #2
3. Blanton's or Rebecca Creek.

A quick field estimate of eligibility for the Dinkathon would be if the antlers can be seen protruding above thumb and index finger while holding between said thumb and index finger, you aren't even in contention.......This is where the Becky crick or Blanton's comes in.

Junk must not make Poobs jealous, and it must be the deer's.

Flamboyancy is encouraged.

Thinking about starting a parallel competition with no standards whatsoever. Everybody gets a trophy,........ everybody that sends a bribe, that is. Not much on whiskey, but naturally infused, small-batch gin will do very nicely, along with macadamia nuts and gift cards for Carabba's and Ledo Pizza.

Extra points for entries without junk pics.

We're all winners, but no bribe, no trophy.

However, feel free to visualize receiving one in your head.

I don't see a gun. Did you run him down on foot or just pose with some roadkill?

"We're all winners"....really?

Notice the Judge isn't handing out 'Participation 'trophies?

Only the smallest buck, with nearly vestigial nubs for antlers can win.You people shooting these spikes and monster two points need to rethink your game plan. If you insist on shooting grown-up deer, you'll never be a winner.

Just saying...
