What's your favorite way to fry fish?
I typically just use an egg wash and 1/2 ap flour 1/2 fine corn meal seasoned with whatever. Fry in veg oil.
Looking for some ideas. Certainly have had some fried fish that beats mine!

I like a beer batter. 1/2 AP flour 1/2 corn starch Salt, pepper, spices to taste. Beer of choice.
It's a light batter that can also be used for tempura.
If you like it crunchier, roll it in panko after the batter.

Sounds good! I like battered fish as well. Especially if I'm doing a whole fillet instead of smaller pieces.

Simply coated in pan searing flour!!
If catfish or bream maybe some YELLOW cornmeal.
Just not big into a heavy batter. I like the fish with simply a dusting.

My fave is Mc Cormicks fish fry batter. Sub beer for the water about half the time. Fresh rock cod fish tacos just don't get any better.

Just fried up a batch of rock fish. Came out pretty good. Same old 1/2 flour, 1/2 corn meal with some "New Orleans" dollar store seasoning and a bit of S&P.
I think next time I'll try cracker meal.

You guys should give the big spring mill seasoning flour a try for fish, pork, chicken or about anything else you fry. It call A-1 seasoning flour. Made in va. Go to there web site to buy or i have seen it on ebay in 2 lb bags . Its pricey, but good stuff, makes a fine flour gravy.

David, I cooked a couple of gallons of hush puppies too. Not much left at the end of the event.

Fried up a ton of halibut and rockfish last night. Used Lousiana Fish Fry, https://store.louisianafishfry.com/products/batters-coatings.htmlMixed a bag of crispy and a bag of regular together. It was great. Just patted the fish pieces dry, tossed them in the breading, and into the fryer! I'll definitely use it again.
