Lochte should have stuck to his guns. There was a USA Today reporter who went to that service station and who found no evidence of any of the damage that Lochte and his friends allegedly did. It looks like the security guards saw their chance to frick with some drunk Americans and more or less robbed them at gunpoint.

In the US those security guards would have been arrested.

May have passed judgement a little soon. Not that he didn't embellish the story, which he admits he did. There is no excuse for that, but it appears that witnesses are now coming forward saying that the guards did pull guns on the four Americans and demand money. The guys did use walls instead of urinals, which I'm sure no one on this site has ever done when high. The witnesses are now saying that there was no damage to the restrooms. Are these new witnesses telling the truth or trying to help the athletes, it too early to tell. I believe we need to wait and see what really happened before we ruin someones life with the information we have as of today. The truth will come out. It may clear the guys or it may condemn them. I for one, hope that all they are guilty of is using a wall as a bathroom, and embellishing the incident.

Fox News is reporting that the Police of Brazil may have not told the truth when they said the guys entered the bathroom by kicking the door in and tearing a mirror off the wall. Teammates are now talking and they say they never entered the bathroom and did not kick the door at all. They did go to the bathroom behind the building. They have have a gun pointed at them and they did have to pay to leave. Which they did. The one guy that paid the fine did so to get his passport back. In other words extortion. His attorney said he had two choices; he could pay the fine or wait the 20 or 30 days until the investigation was finished. He chose to leave, so would I.
