I bought one of the clearance Tiika SS Lite 6x55. Has anyone upgraded to the Micky Edge? If so, how much weight did you eliminate? This is my first and it seems really nice. I adjusted the trigger to ~2#s and its crisp. Grafs has a Lapua Ammo special and flat rate shipping so I got 108 and 120gr to start with, but have plenty of 139 to reload with.

Any photos with the Edge?

Thank you

Greg

I've seen the Tikka stock quoted at 29oz. I would assume 3-5 oz dropped.

Have you looked at the MPI kevlar stocks?
The weight loss would be a lot more.

Have you shot it as issued? Mine does pretty good with every thing from 95 to 140 grainers and different powders. I don't find the weight objectionable in the least, but I am not the guy with the "fist." grin

How about a Superlite?? This is a 7MM-08 in a Hunters Edge. McMillan usually has these ready to ship so I grabbed one. Really like it, makes for a nice rig with about perfect balance.

As far as weight savings its not a lot, the Tikka stock I have weighs 28 ozs, and the Hunters Edge is right at 24 ozs so 4 ozs or so.

My stock weighs 29.5oz and the scoped rig weighs 6lbs 15ozs. Slightly heavier than i was going for, but 1/2 of the cost for a Kimber, and Kimber doesn't have a swede.

Rick has the Edge special still so there's an option. I'll check MPI too tho.

Thanks

I'm right at 6 lb 12 ozs on mine. I've got the beefy DNZ mounts so if I went Talley I might save a couple more ozs.

If I lost ten pounds (and believe me, I could afford to,) I could easily carry a 4-5 oz heavier rifle, even at going on 66. wink

Are the "edge" stocks gaining weight? I thought they were supposed to be in the <28oz mark....I didn't weigh my last hunters edge, but it felt a smidge heavier than I thought it should. I also have a mountaineer edge, now it feels light...haven't weigh it though.

McMillan says 22-26ozs. My Tikka stock is 29.5.

Mcmillan is allowing molded in colors and other options they used to prohibit. They add weight which could be skewing numbers slightly.
