....our bow season opens. I'll be in a tree, probably sweating, fighting bugs and waiting for something that deep down inside I hope doesn't show for a while.

I can't not go. I've been waiting several months. A day doesn't go by that I don't think about it. It's been that way since I was a young kid -- 37 years to be exact and I'm just 45.

Lots of good bucks on camera and several others that I know will show eventually.

I've used my buck tag before gun season two out of the last three years. I can't say it won't happen again this year.

This will also be the first year two of the kids will hunt with a bow. I'll enjoy watching that unfold.

I'll fill some doe tags in the next month or two.

I enjoy hunting. I really enjoy it. It's an addiction.

Kinda weird, but I hope this season lasts for a while. I don't want to get too lucky, too quick.

I just can't not go. No doubt some of you share the same sentiments.

Jealous, my bow hunt for Wyoming elk was ruined by a Tibial Plateau Fracture. So I'll live vicariously through others this year.

SAS,
I hear ya! Missouri opens September 15th and I'm hoping for a cool cloudy day with just enough breeze to keep the bugs away and cool the sweat off. Like you, the thing is I doubt I'd even shoot one right then. I much prefer mid-October and on for hunting but I just can't make myself stay home.

A sticky red arrow is a beautiful thing. September 24 is our opener and I'll be 20' in a tree. Fresh backstrap, hot coals, pepper, salt, garlic... Dammit son!

Checked a couple of cameras yesterday and the mosquitos were rough! It's gonna be fun!
