At the peak of the crunch, they were advertising MiniMags for, I believe, $29.95 per hundred. Since then, their catalog has gone straight from the mailbox to the trash.

Never tried them as I recall. I just won't buy from blatant gougers when there are plenty of suppliers out there that don't hose their customers just because they can. If they've got what you want at a price you like, go for it.

Yeah, CTD has been the absolute last place I'd buy from for a couple of years now.

Price gougers that are no friends of the firearm community IMO. I'm with the others in that CTD will never see a dime from me.

Federal Gold Medal Ultra Match is my all time favorite. Right up there with Tenex and RWS50 in my guns, and often better. I'm down to my last two bricks of it from a superlative lot from 18 years ago. When it is gone I shall cry.

+1 I think I have a brick left - may have to splurge?!!

It is good stuff Ned and thanks for the heads up but like the others indicated CTD will never get any business from me.

Yup, their catalog (Cheaper than gold)goes into the recycle bin. I don't even open it either. Their management is a good textbook example of the "American business method of greed and short term planning". I wonder how long they will stay in business?

CDNN and PSA are also gougers.

Ed, I've found PSA to be extremely reasonable in most of their ammo pricing with some downright great deals at times..

That's not the greatest deal but I don't think that comes near gouging territory either..
A few days ago they had 500 round bricks of federal blue box for 35 and free shipping at 3 or more bricks with no limit.
Recently got 17HMR for $10/box free shipping also..
Not tryin to argue with you but my experience has certainly differed..

Let's see: Couldn't cut a deal with Dealer A on vehicle 3 years ago, because he was asking too much. But, this year he is beating the competition or is reasonable and he has what I want. But, nope I'll go someplace else because of 3 years ago.

Please name a couple wholesalers that were drastically cutting the competition back when .22lR was hard to find.

I don't quite think that's fair comparison...and there were several dealers that didn't raise their .22 prices to gouger levels during the crunch..
Powder valley
Grafs
Sgammo
Champion shooter supply, to name just a few

Did they have it? And if they did, then why we're all complaining they couldn't find it?

They did from time to time.. And I was always able to score plenty. People looking for the cheap bulk packs probably struggled the most

Yeah, I never had trouble finding premo .22 ammo at "regular" prices, but the bulk ammo-tin can blasting crowd did.

Interesting description from link above:

"made by Federal for sale online at cheap discount prices only at TargetSportsUSA.com. "

"40 grain lead round nose bullet with the muzzle velocity of 100 feet per second and 128 energy in foot pounds"

I've had mixed results with these but always fine for killing cans and golf balls.

Same here. Never even look at CTD.

Agree with battue on cars. Wife needed new wheels recently.

We decided to lease this one as at our age, we may want to cut back to one vehicle at lease end. The GM bailout cost my retirement plan millions. They are out, even though we drove Buicks and Olds throughout the seventies through the nineties with satisfaction.

The only other vehicles on the market with power adjustable seats on both sides, in the class we wanted, were Ford Escape Titanium, Lincoln MKC, and Subru Outback.

We first looked at the Lincoln. Wife loved it, but you would think the top Ford would be close. We looked. Ford did not have the color, but would find it and call. I had told both dealers what I wanted to make as a down payment and length of lease. Ford called the next day. Found the car, list $400+ under Lincoln, monthly lease payment $78 per month more. Salesperson ask me what I thought. I told him that he just sold a car, a Lincoln.

I think the dealer at Ford thought they had a couple of dumb old farts and decided to see how much gouge they could pull off. We have a long memory (up to now and may our memory stay with us).

This catch them, screw them, and turn them loose mentality needs to be justly rewarded, wherever you find it.

Jack
