This is a semi-custom Ruger M77 Mark II Stainless and Synthetic All Weather rifle chambered in 260 Remington. This rifle started life as a 243 Ultralight. It has been rebarreled to 260 Remington with a 1 in 8" twist Douglas barrel by IT & D Custom. The barrel was contour profiled to drop into the factory UL stock, target crowned, and finished at 22". This barrel is lighter weight than the standard factory sporter barrel contour but is 0.552" at the muzzle so its a nice light weight without being too thin. Next, the entire rifle including the rings (medium height) was bead blasted to a very fine eggshell finish. A Timney adjustable trigger has been installed giving a nice light pull. Lastly a 1" Pachmayr Decelerator pad has been installed/rough ground shaped. Used but excellent shape, less than 100 rounds down the barrel. This is NOT the rough finish like the Hawkeye models. It is a very fine light eggshell finish.

Asking $725 including shipping to CONUS. Larger more detailed pics are available via email if you want to see them.

For trades towards this, I would be interested in a good Leica Range Finder or perhaps a nice spotting scope.

Thanks,
Mark in GA

What is the weight?

So help me understand the barrel profile. Basically, you kept an "ultralight" profile out to the end of the stock, then went with a straight taper from there on out to the muzzle?

How well did it shoot for accuracy?

Also, how is it throated (long, short, for a specific bullet, etc)?

I don't have a very accurate scale, but using a bathroom scale it seems to be about 6.8 lbs including the rings. On the barrel profile, I am attaching a better pic. The guy at IT&D came up with the profile using the factory UL barrel as a starting point. He did not think we should go as light as the factory UL so he changed the taper somehow. Its 0.552 outside diameter at the muzzle. I still wanted it to go into the existing stock without major rework.

As far as accuracy goes, I didn't do any major in depth load work on it. Just the Hornady 129 Interlock, a CCI 200, and enough H-4350 to yield around 2800 fps. With this it would shoot around an inch at 100 yds when I did my part. That's about as good as I can shoot any of my rifles so I didn't play with seating depth. This is shooting over a rolled up blanket from the back of my truck. I would have to find my notes to get more specifics.

Not sure how its throated as I didn't specify. The 129 Interlock worked fine though.

Anything else I can try to answer specifically for you?

Man I wish I knew. It's been a sweet rifle for me in a great do it all caliber. Granted you pretty much need to be hand loader, But I sure thought it would sell fairly easily. But not so far.

Thanks,
