If you're a 17HM2 shooter in search of ammo, someone on RFC posted that SWFA has Hornady 17 grain ammo in stock for $8.95 per box of 50 as of 08/31/16. The posting on RFC is likely to attract some attention, so if you're interested, you might not want to wait too long to place your order.

PS - I ordered 1K rounds for myself just before I posted this, so there is still some in stock as of 11:25AM Central.

260Remguy: Thanks again for the heads up - I am assuming that Hornady just produced this stuff - and that's a "good sign".
Long live the 17 Mach2.

'Glad to be of help.

IIRC, someone has said that CCI makes all of the CCI and Hornady branded 17HM2 ammo. Eley made Eley and Remington, but that production ended in 2005(?). This is the first 17HM2 ammo that I've seen in some time.

Thank you for the heads up. I, also, placed an order with SWFA.

Afterwards, I did some searching and found that Grafs has some in stock too. Their shipping and price is cheaper.

1,000 rounds, 20 boxes of 50, was $179, plus $14.30 to ship, a total of $193.30 from SWFA.

The same from Grafs would have been $171.80, plus $7.95 to ship, a total of $180.75.

I would have bought from Grafs is I'd know that they had it and that it was less expensive. After all, $12.55 is breakfast or lunch at Cracker Barrel.

260Remguy: Over the last ten days not only have I gotten tips on the location of 17 Mach2 ammo from you but now many of my friends from around the country (from Florida to Connecticut to Bellingham, Washington) have called me relaying they are all of a sudden seeing 17 Mach2 ammo on store shelves!
Several of these friends have actually purchased the ammo for me and two friends bought ammo for me and are refusing my payments - they think they "owe me" for my hospitality and aid in outdoor activities!
The latest call just came in this morning from the Yakima, Washington area where one of my friends was at the local "Bi-Mart" (or maybe its "Buy-Mart"?) and found Hornady 17 Mach2 ammo for $7.69 a box of fifty with a four box limit. He and his wife bought me 8 boxes!
If anyone is in this area I think he was in either Grandview or some other small suburb south of Yakima - he was travelling and I am sure he told my the "Bi-Mart" had lots of the ammo.
Anyway my spirits are again lifted in regards to the 17 Mach2 not being added to the trash heap of obsolete cartridges.
Long live the 17 Mach2.

I'm looking forward to shooting some squirrels out of the black walnut trees on a friend's farm near Cedar Creek, NE, with the Marlin 917M2S once the leaves have fallen. I'm the only person not in the family who is currently allowed to hunt the farm and, unlike many farms in the area, it still has has about one-third of the land, about 100+/- acres, in "waste ground" woodlot and creek-bottom ground. The family only hunts deer during the November firearm season, so I have the coyote, squirrel, and turkey hunting, as well as the antlerless deer seasons, all to myself. The nice thing is that the farm is only 25 miles from my home in Omaha, so I can run down and hunt for a couple of hours during any open season.

260Remguy: Best of luck on that upcoming Tree Squirrel Hunt!
That is another animal on my "bucket list" to Hunt and eat.
A few years ago I was hired to move a luxury vehicle from Montana to Florida and while passing through Kentucky and Georgia I saw some of the "huge" eastern type Tree Squirrels. The first I have ever seen.
I was impressed.
Again best of luck on the Hunt.

Currently, as of 09/28/16, has Hornady 17HM2 ammo in stock. It is $95 for 500 rounds, plus $15 for shipping, so about $11 per box delivered.
