Going to pull the 22" factory barrel with screw filled sight holes, and replace it with a stainless 24", fluted, TI take off. Old m8 6x42, is gonna go back to Leupold for an LRD reticle change, and the bolt will go off to Eddie for a fluting, and lightening cuts. The whole thing will get ceracoat ed, graphite black, and go back into a nice walnut stock.
No use for it, but I want a project. I intend to run either 168 gr ttsx's or 180gr partitions. This all sound dumb ?

Beautiful stock. Sounds like a great project. I'd go 280 though.

Sounds like a great way to get a gun refreshed without a lot of money.
The wood stock is very nice; I might be tempted to get some checkering on it.

If this is the subject action I would replace it with a better design.
All guns should be locked up when not in use!

I don't think it's dumb at all; I kinda like having a project or two going.
All those mods sound good, but I'd add one thing....
That's a beautiful stock. I'd get it checkered!
PS- what you said ain't dumb but I guarantee that whatever Dumb Don said IS dumb...

Beautiful. I like the ebony grip cap. They do great work up there.
I like the smooth look on certain rifles (sporterized Mausers Springfields & Enfields) but for a truly finished custom rifle checkering is a must.
Love me some wrap-around action!
