Can someone recommend a red dot or aimpoint type site for a 22 rifle? Don't want to spend huge money, as it's just for backyard squirrel control. There are many available. Ideally it would clamp to the Remington 22 dovetail.

Tasco BKRD3022. Under $40. This model fits 22 grooved receivers.

I have six of the standard BKRD30 model that fit weaver mounts and have never had a problem.

BSA RD30 looks identical but the lens coating has turned very dark blue in the two that I have.

I have a TRS25 on an M1 carbine using an Ultimak rail. That rail transfers barrel heat very efficiently and that sight gets smoking hot after a couple magazines. I figured it would go belly up after the first time but it's still going strong.

I've used the Primary Arms Micro Dot on a number of rifles including rimfires. They work great. The Advanced Micro Dots have a claimed 50,000 hour battery life and seem a little clearer.
