This is my first .45 caliber of any type, pistol or rifle. I must be a idiot!
I find 45 acp, 45 long colt, 45 p+, and a buddy even said I could use different caliber pistol round!
If someone would be kind enough to list the rounds I can safely use in this 1985 manufactured rifle I would truly appreciate the effort.
Thank you.

45 Colt is all you can use. Your buddy is FOS.

Your Winchester 94 will handle the 45 Colt loads that are RATED + P, like the Buffalo Boar ammo. It's a very strong action.

LOL.
No....
But I bought 3 recently you would like, 2 unfired Brownings a 218 Bee and a 32-20 and the Winchester 45 which has a case colored receiver.
I have dreamed of a bee for 30 years, I needed some low-medium caliber rifles. Scarlett felt differently!
Seriously, I wish I was headed up with you. When y'all leaving?

Right now it looks like we are leaving either Monday or Tuesday. October 24th or 25th. Depending on the weather we may leave earlier. You are always welcome to join us. Or just fly in and I'll pick you up at the airport. Will miss you this year.

AS long as it says "45 Colt" or "45 Long Colt" you'll be golden. +, +P, -P, or whatever else might be included with the "45 Colt" part is good. I haven't found any weight or style that won't function in mine either. I normally shoot 320 Lyman Or RCBS cast bullet in my Trapper. It has had a steady diet of 23 grains of W296 so long that it has been responsible for the majority of two 8 pound jugs plus various 1 pounders of 296 and 110 among other things. Pros and cons considered, I place my 45 Colt Trapper dead even with my Marlin Guide Gun as a useful, versatile tool.
