I shoot a target each month and post it on RFC's CZ Forum. We have an open sight (CZ only) match. The target is designed to be fired by super-accurate .22 rifles with high-magnification optics at 50 yards. One can't really see the individual bulls at that distance with the naked eye, so we shoot our open sighted version at 50 feet. This week, the potential was there for a high-240s score, but I kept dropping at least one point per row (two in row four):

244-5X
Danny Creasy
CZ 452 UltraLux, Wolf Match Target
Caldwell Rock BR rest and rear bag of same manufacture
Low 70s and 2 to 5 mph winds. Very good conditions.

I get eye fatigue if I attempt a second card in the same session. Maybe next month will be the magic moment for an open-sighted 250.

I have mine set up with a Williams peep and a narrower blade front. There's a lot real estate between those sights.

Yes, apertures are quite popular on the ULs. Of course we only allow OPEN sights in our little 50 foot competition. It would be a piece of cake with aperture sights at 50 feet. Lots-O-250s!

Maybe so with an aperture front but not so much with a blade front.

Took one shot with a another fella's 452 Lux today at the range. Went in the same spot as target# 8 above (l to r, top to bottom).

Figured I wasn't going to beat that and handed his rifle back to him. grin

Good shooting BTW.

The only thing I miss about the original sights is their accurate adjustment. I could bust a tin can at 50 yards or 100 with just an adjustment.

The Williams peep is not set up for accurate micro clicks.

True, relative to blade sight shooting. Some of our folks like to chase a 50 yard 200-20X game with their aperture sighted target rifles — most with globe front sights. On a whim I set a goal of running with those dogs until I could score a 200 with my TechSighted CZ 452 FS. Finally did it last year. It took at least half a dozen attempts. Link:

Very good shooting to say the least...

I've got one of the Ultra Lux but have been shooting it with a scope...MOA at 100 isn't much of a problem...
