My GSP picked it up most likely from a lone star tick earlier this year in the SW Virginia area. Symptoms were a general lack of energy, e.g. last weekend all he wanted to do was ride on the mule and didn't venture very far when we were walking around the mountain. The vet has him on a month of antibiotics and says he'll be good to go pretty quick.
I need a recommendation for a good tick repellent. He's on Bravecto which works good at killing the ticks but they still get on him. I need something to keep the mother effers off him.

I've come to use Atvantix over the recent years. After a few days in the bush I supplement with a tick bath. I may apply at 3 week intervals during the high season.
One of our Labs caught the same tick spread ailment years ago. I've stepped up prevention after that.

One collar for 8 months. Didn't pick up a single tick on two Dogs the entire time. None made it into the house functional, that I could see. And didn't wake up with one attached to myself that crawled on me from the Dogs. None of the others mentioned ever even came close to that level of success. There will probably be some excess collar you cut off. Placed that into my hunting pants. Seemed to also work fairly well there.

One baby beagle here, who loves to run in the scrub brush behind our property. We've found numerous ticks on her after we put the collar on in May, and continuing on til this week. All dead, none attached.
It'd be great if the collar lasts 8 months as advertized. We'll see. I'm a believer anyway and it's been a good 5 months now. Wished I'd discovered it in March.

Has anyone had any side effect issues with Seresto? I also changed to Bravecto on my female black lab. Also use a spray after running her in brush.
