ordered online, just came in. Here's my impression. It's no mountain rifle, but perfect weight for all arounder. Fit and finish is flawless. Greyboe stock is wonderful, completely different animal from B/C. Much higher quality, paint is perfect. Cerakote is perfect. Can't shoot until tomorrow, and it won't be a formal range session, so can't say about accuracy. But on looks, feels like I just dropped 4K on a custom. Just a beauty. Well done big R.

Greyboe stock on a Remington . . . interesting. Pictures and an essay on the rifle stock to follow ?

What caliber?

I prefer classic.

I wonder if they left the weight off of the specs purposely? IIRC, when introduced there was some banter and concern here on the 'Fire about the weight of the Greyboe.

Sorry, can't weigh it right now as I'm at work. Photobucket is screwing with me so can't post a pic. Lighter than I thought is about all I can say, seems well balanced. Paint is much nicer than Remington stock photo, webbing is light but balanced and pronounced. Like I said, it looks like a custom. But at the price point, $939 delivered, the quality blows my mind. Barrel perfectly centered in stock. Really gonna be a sleeper I think.

The weights are listed as 7.375 lb on the website linked above. You have to click the little arrow above the specs to move over to the weight and other specs that aren't visible.

The last thing I think of when it comes too a wilderness rifle is a Remington M700.

It looks like a fine rifle for other things but hard wilderness use isn't one of them. laugh

Specs and factory pics look nice, if it shoots should make for a nice general use rifle, if you are into 700s which a lot of people are.

I'd put money on a Weatherby Vanguard Backountry beating it in weight and accuracy at that price IMO.

Why no short actions? I think it would be great in 243 or 6.5 creedmoor, if Remington will ever jump on that bandwagon.
