I posted this in deer hunting but put it here for those who don't read that. During the next 6 weeks the Id Nat Guard will be flying helicopter maneuvers in unit 40. They'll be making numerous landings day and night every day. That can't help the hunting much. Here's the link: HELICOPTERS

We had some wildlife guys dynamiting the tops out of trees to provide raptor nesting sites during deer season. Hunted away from the area and if I remember right I tagged out.
But wildlife guys. In the middle of a week and a half deer season. Fargging bastages.

I am not going to put the concerns of training those who defend our country over a recreational pastime. That would be rather self absorbed.

I'm not suggesting they should cancel or move the training. I'm just letting the guys know about the training so they can move to another unit if it concerns them.

I would bring the crews some cold drinks and snacks and ask if they've seen any deer while flying around the area, and if they could point out where they saw them on a map. Wherever there are lemons there can be lemonade...

Those deer might move but they won't leave, you'll just have to find them.

Used to hunt the Owyhee's every year as a youngster until my friend and neighbor got shot there in Junior high..Haven't hunted there since..The bullet went in the size of a quarter in the back of his leg and came out from the knee cap almost to his thigh..They were picking out pieces of his levis forever..10 months before he could return to school.
Never found the guy but his dad saw him going over the mountain never to be seen again. The doctor figured it was an '06, most likely.
