Have any of you used this?
Does it do a decent job of directing sound/blast forward?
The brake on my AR now is obnoxious as hell.

I have one and, yes, it is quieter than your typical flash hider given that all the stuff is going forward. I also have a DPMS Lavang on an AR, similar performance for less money though the finish is sub-par to the Troy.
Conduct is the best proof of character.

I just put one on a new build and yes, they seem to be quieter than a flash hider. I've never shot a real bona-fied comp so can't compare that way but it will change felt recoil somewhat.
And it looks so farkin cool besides.
I could wish a lot of things on my worst enemy but neuropathy ain't one of them.
