Someone with some experience tell me how these perform in 300gr 375 h&h?

I'm late to the party on knowing that they are discontinued under the guise of being "AP".

I'd imagine the supply is dried slam up by now , so maybe it doesn't matter if my rifle likes them ?

Squirrel them away in hopes of shooting something with them one day ? Or move on to new offerings ?

The barnes solids tend to be very accurate. As for performance on game, I've never shot an animal with them. From what I hear, the flat nose solids are some of the best solids ever. The newer round nose, I know will shoot through trees and railroad ties but I haven't heard anything about them on game yet.

Have used the 400 grain flatnose solid factory load in my .416 Rigby. It worked well in terms of penetration on several giraffe and cape buff. One bullet showed some riveting and a slight bend when recovered.

Switched to these after several factory loaded Federal Trophy Bonded Sledgehammers out of my .470 badly bent and riveted on elephant

I intend to use Federal Woodleigh Hydrostatic cup point solids in .470 on an upcoming elephant/cape buff hunt. Will report afterwards.

Anyone know why discontinued? Seems like such a foundational caliber and load?

BATFE determined them "armor piercing " through some muddy reasoning or something .
