When I was shooting a lot of .45ACP and 10mm on my own property for target practice and chronographing loads, I used a large cardboard box that a push (lawn) mower came it, set it to my right on the shooting table. It caught just about all the brass.

98% of the time, I shoot on my private range, but did see a guy picking up brass at the indoor range last time I was there, using a long handled contraption he had made from a hand powered roller sweeper.

He could reach out to get brass that was past the firing line and off limits to shooters.

Pretty ingenuous!

I had the same issue of loosing my brass when shooting at an indoor range.

So...I asked the range owner if I could pick up my brass when the range was clear. He told me if I would police it ALL...I could have it ALL.

I reload for several calibers...the rest I sell as scrap. A couple of years ago I got $1.25 per pound for scrap brass.
