I'm thinking of loading up some 150 NBTs for this season and was thinking of trying H1000 after seeing it bring some life to my 300WM.

So have any of you tried H1000? Or, I have some Re23, IMR 7828, or H4831sc I could try?

With 150 I am using 62.2 grns of h1000 in my 24" barrel 280AI and getting 3040fps I can run faster but this load is easy on brass. Norma cases cci 250. Shoots under my thumb nail for five at 100 yards.

And then zeroing the new VX6 first 2 shots where low and left. I moved it over 1/4" and up 1/4 and shot four more.

This has been my results my bro uses 55 grns of RL 17 and 140 AB to the tune of 3150 fps.
A good friend of mine swears by h4831 for the 280 AI and he has had about 15 different one over the last 40 years.

I've had tremendous luck with 140 TSX's and IMR 4831. I loaded for my buddy's 280AI and his loved the same combo. I have also done just as well with 140 VLD's and RL22.

Does anyone have any data on Re23 and the 280ai? With all the relatively temp stable powders I'm hesitant to start with Re22 or IMR 7828.

If you're looking for a temp stable powder on the same order as IMR 7828, consider IMR 7977. I've been working up loads with both 7828 and 7977 for one of my 280AIs and they seem to run neck and neck. Both in accuracy and velocity. Load data is available on Hodgdon's web site.

I never thought I'd grow up to be a grumpy old man, but I did, and I'm killin' it.
