So I have the six man and been playing with the idea of using 550 cord to use on the main peg loops on the bottom of the tent. I saw that Alaska Lanche (sp) had used something similar on a smaller tipi. Looked like he got 4 to 6 inches of lift to provide more airflow and wee bit more room. Anybody done this on a six or 8 man? Will it hold in high wind?

We have a Line Loc kit on our site for that. It will set you back 7.50 , and take 5 -10 minutes to tie them up.

They do well in wind as long as you don't get extreme in how high you go.

If you go extreme ..like a foot , expect issues when it is windy.

Going up 3 inches or so , mitigates a large amount of ground born condensation and provides a bit of a cooling effect in warmer conditions.
