The gun would not be available until January. Bought my son his first deer rifle which was a 243 M700 ADL. Walmart had them on sale for 379.00 and when they brought it from the back it had a fine coat of rust on it and the last one so I got it for 250.00.
The gun is a great shooter but the finish and the stock bother me. I don't want this crappy looking gun being the one he keeps forever and ever so I am wanting to get it refinished with cerakote or Teflon. The stock seems pretty cheap too so I want to get a good stock with a bedding job. I am sure there are other things that could be done with the bolt as well to improve fit.
If any of you Gunsmiths would be willing to take this on after deer season please let me know.

If you want a wood stock, look at Boyd's. They have laminate stocks for a little over $100 that are finished and inletted well enough to be considered drop in, although a good bedding job never hurts. I would be glad to do the whole job for you, PM me for pricing and details. I can do Duracoat and Cerakoat on the metal.

If there is anything the modern day gunsmith can do, working on a Remington 700 has to top the list with spraying on some sort of coating close behind. GD

Give me a ring after season, I would be more than happy to discuss the project and get it done.

I have an MPI from a Pierce Titanium (Remington clone)I tore down last year. It is a long action with a 1.26" Micro-cell pad. The stock is black and weighs twenty-eight ounces. I paid $512 and will let it go for $250. It is the only thing left from that rifle.
