Does anyone sell mdl 7 actions with the .308 boltface? I see that PTG sells them in.223 and a blueprinted action with alot of options, but that's not what i'm looking at. I suppose the internals like the bolt raceway and feed ramp specs of the .223 mdl 7 action is different that the .308 based actions?

Ive never seen 7 actions for sale new... If its anything like what they want for 700 actions you can buy the whole rifle for not much more and part it.

On this subject, are the bare actions any better than an assembled rifle action? Just wondering if any more time or precision is taken with just the bare actions Remington sells.
I have heard folks say they are better but....?

Cant see how they would be any better, and ordinarily speaking, if you do the math, they sure aren't any cheaper. Buy a rifle and cannibalize it.
