vs a domestic lens?

Looking on AMAZON at a 55 to 250 mm lens for my Canon T 5i.

It's not uncommon that a camera or lens manufacturer will designate, mark and warranty units for a specific market like the US. The US Division will handle warranties and repairs. If a product was designated for a market other than the US, than you would have to send your lens back to the country where it is warrantied for repair/service.

Graymarket is another term for non-US market lenses.

For inexpensive, low-end, lenses the difference isn't likely to matter because it would cost more to fix the lens than to replace it. Warranty service under those circumstances isn't worth the difference in price between the US version and an "international" or "gray market" version.

was looking at a couple of lenses on Amazon...

and some places are selling "international" versions...

and they do mention "no warranty"....
