Anybody watching it? I just saw the first 4 episodes, holy chit I'm digging it. Enough realism in it to be interesting. They really get a lot of the little stuff right.

I'm on the second season. It good even though I want to kick the dipshit brothers in the taint. The remarks about the old man are funny, likeep adding Ronald Reagan to Mt Rushmore. He hates chevy trucks and is a die hard Republican. Pretty witty comebacks too.

Just finished watching the second season - wife and I get a kick out of it.

My girlfriend loves it. I don't mind it.

Is this a reality type show?

The newest season on Netflix is even better than the first season. Good chit. Reminds me of my family...

Have watched both seasons. Funny that most of the charcters are from either from That 70s show or the newer Two and ahalf Men.

Sam Elliot is great as the dad.

No it's a sitcom. Basic plot is it's set at a ranch in CO. Rancher has 2 sons, one was HS football star who left the ranch to pursue it and never made it big. Now he's back, hat in hand. Other brother stayed and helped out. Sam Elliot is the dad. It's funny as hell, and obviously written and or acted by people with a little bit of a clue.

The wife and I just finished season 2 last night. We're addicted to the show. And, watching way too much d&$# tv. Season 3 can't get here soon enough! memtb

Agreed - I liked the second season better than the first. I don't LOL much but did repeatedly through season two...

Very funny show, have enjoyed it. It's mostly just a re-hashing of "That '70's Show". Hyde & Kelso are back, only now they work on a ranch. But the interaction is very similar, and the chemistry between the two actors is still there. Sam Elliott's character is Red Foreman who owns a ranch, but now he's Red Foreman played by Sam Elliott; and how can that be bad?

Nothing innovative or creative, but it's written well, the characters are good, and it's funny; so what else could you want?

Now if only they could get Mila Kunis on the show...

I just can't watch stupid chit like that.

Have watched only three episodes. Writing is pretty good but casting is awful.

Maybe I should just jump to the second season to form an opinion?

Is netflix the only way to watch this show?

Sam Elliot is the man, but I just can't get past any show with a laugh track that pops up every 10 seconds, whether something is funny or not.

I made it 5 minutes into the first episode and had to turn it off.

2 minutes was all I could take. Love ole Sam but could not take that stupid grin while looking up,

well we are watching back to back episodes after reading about it here. I started before my wife came home, then started fresh with her to watch it.
It's got a lot of stuff right. There was some back and forth on facebook yesterday about trump grabbing stuff, and some of the women wrote in and said they wouldn't mind grabbing sam elliot's butt.
I don't think anyone would want to grab my butt, but i do sound and act a lot like the character elliot plays. I think it is funny as all get out, including that lever action in the truck. I still have MY gun rack like that from my truck in the 70's. Some of the lines are great, like having a gun rack in the bathroom, living room, dining room etc. And worrying about the north koreans. Hell, here it's the cartels.

I watched 5-6 episodes and will concur.
While I've enjoyed all three of the main actors in past roles, their timing and delivery is ridiculously awkward in this show.

I watched it last night based on this thread. First episode was so-so, seems they aren't real sure what to do with this - make it a run of the mill sitcom or what they call a dramedy.

Lots of tension between the younger son and father with a few jokes thrown in for no seemingly good reason while the older son seems to be there just to make smart ass asides. Sam Elliott is a good actor in certain roles that fit a rawhide tough old character but light comedy doesn't seem to be his forte. The laugh track doesn't help one bit although I did actually laugh twice IIRC. I might give it another chance to see if it picks up. They can drop F bombs so if they throw in some T&A on that Heather chick that might help...

you guys are gettin old er, or need to get some better glasses, if you didn't see heather and the young son in the first episode. It embarrassed my sensitivities.
I kind of resemble the character played by sam elliott.
My wife and were both getting homesick at the cows coming in at the beginning and the song.
Lot of stuff they picked up on. My wife's uncle bob thought there was only one truck manufacturer in the country spelt F.O.R.D. I remember bringing over my dodge to his house, he couldn't see real well and was feeling around it. I told him it was a dodge, that was okay cause it had a cummings diesel made by a ford company. Chevy's are kind of a bad word.

I've actually stuck it out, but the laugh track turns a potentially very good show into a mediocre one.

Thought the same thing about MASH, although it rose above..

I made it through half of the second episode and couldn't take it anymore.

Tried to get through a couple episodes. Was somewhat entertaining, but overall pretty shoddy.

I like it overall, yes it has laughtracks, and the delivery isn't always the best with some of the jokes. but seriously, I'm not a movie/tv critic, nor would I pretend to be. it's meant to entertain and it sure does. can't wait for the next season to come out.

Not enough humor and too much relationship drama.

Sitcoms should be funny and nothing else. Seinfeld and Married with Children come to mind.

Seinfeld is easiest the most over-rated unfunny show I ever tried to watch. But I'm not a New York Jew, and don't get their humor. YMMV

The Ranch is a a great show.

We watched the 1st season late last winter and ironically just started the 2nd tonight. We'll see how it goes. I've never been an Ashton Kutcher fan

Poor Debra Winger. I can't tell if she's got Parkinson's or just incredibly bad comedic timing.

Agree about the laugh track and most of the gags are pretty predictable, but I still like the show. That girl from the early seasons of 24 is easy to watch too.

I don't know if I ever noticed a laugh track in any show until it was mentioned in this thread.

Now they annoy the schit out of me when ever I hear it. Lol.

We enjoy this show. It beats the chit out of most anything on t.v.

I watched couple of episodes when it first came out and the laugh track put me off. I came back months later and tried it again. The track got less intrusive, the characters became better defined and I enjoy it. They get lot more right than Last Man Standing, but Tim Allen is obviously much better comedic actor. LMS needed someone from the 'fire to consult and correct all their hunting reference mistakes.

Do the later seasons stop being a love drama?

Binge watched the entire second season last night. I laughed my ass off quite a few times. Much better than season one

The old Dodge Dart turned a million mile episode was a pretty good one! Hell they were all pretty ph ucking funny

I'd almost forgotten how funny Married with Children was till I started watching it again lately. Almost nothing worth watching on tv anymore but one of the channels plays the old show and MWC comes on right after All in the Family...some of those are pretty damn funny too.

Roseanne was a great show. Friends was funny in its day, but I do not own the boxed set.

If it's a Netflix series they're gonna start runnin' homos through it eventually.

I tried to get interested in "House of Cards" on Netflix,...but once the President started swappin' blow jobs with his secret service man, I was done with it.

Funny this comes up, my kids ages 22 & 27 and their other halves told us we had to see this show because the dad as me !! the attitude and personality was the same and looks very close too. So we watched some of the first series and my wife totally agreed with the kids. so I still ain't sure if it was a compliment or not ?

I can definitely relate to Sam Elliot's character in the show. I have two boys.
