Used to own one, it shot pretty well. It liked the Remington 117 gr. RN, but I couldn't find a handload it really liked. Looks like a nice gun, good luck with it.

Rockchucker,

Nice snag....both times. Out to 200 yards the Hornady 117 gr round nose is hard to beat in the 250/3000 and the Bob.

My 250 savage just dotes on the round nose bullets.

I had one about 92. It shot pretty well with the factory stuff I was feeding it. I got for my mom to use. She did get a deer with it, but couldn't get comfortable with the exposed hammer so I sold it and bought a Win. FWT .257 Rob.

Nice acquisition - looks like it is ready!

I saw one in .257 Bob and another in 7mm08 at a Gun Show few years back both at a very reasonable price and didn't buy either because like you I'm a dumb ass.

I've got 3 BLRs. A .243, a .308 and a pre 81 in 358. All with steel receivers. The only veteran of the group is the .243. It was my no.1 rifle back in the late 80s and never let me down to the tune of about 6 deer all 1 shot kills. Bought the other 2 thinking I would use them but both became safe queens due to how pretty they are.(Both are absolutely pristine, maybe unfired, don't know). The .243 with a 4x compact will easily group inside 1.5" and is good enough for me as I do not take crazy shots at over 250 yards.
They will kill.
