Several buddies and I are wanting to plan a trip to get out of the Nebraska cold for a few days in Jan/Feb and drive to somewhere warmer and make an attempt at shooting some pigs. We are looking for a relaxing couple of days, not a hard hunting trip. Couple of the guys haven’t hunted anything before. Being in a fenced area won’t bother anyone (assuming the fenced area isn’t 20ish acres ) Would like lodging on site, but we could handle our own meals, assuming the lodging had kitchen facilities. If anyone has any positive recommendations of places they used, please let me know. Would also like to hear any negative reviews of places, but please PM those so as to not publicly bash a place. Thanks. Adam

Did you actually hunt with this outfitter? I'm told they are a spin off of Bostick Plantation. The Hunting Report & hunters I gained first hand knowledge of all rate Bostick as an outfitter that over hunts properties & has a low success rate. I would believe Buck & Boar is more of the same. Years ago a group of us hunted with Cherokee Hunting Lodge & was told complete lies about success. I would suggest the guy posting obtain references from actual hunters & not outfitter hype. I hunt in Florida, but that's a long drive from Nebraska. Outfitters that also offer deer hunts tend to overhunt for boar in my opinion.

Buck & Boar is no Bostic Plantation not even close. I did the SC low country turn stile hunting places in the past. I am glad someone turned me on to Buck & Boar.
I have hunted there every year for 10 yrs. and recommend them. I’ll be back there in December

Arizona might be worth checking out for Javelina. Texas also has lots of Javelina & hogs. Tennessee is also another state worth researching. Good luck.

Tn hog hunting is a no go unless fenced in. Now you can no longer just hunt hogs on public ground unless incidental to a big game open season/hunt and it specifically says you can harvest hogs Also you can no longer hunt private ground for hogs without the proper exemption, and it is limited as to how many people can be on a exemption. I'd say Texas as it's not that far from you and has plenty of hogs I hear

Thanks for suggestions so far. I forgot to mention in the OP that were hoping to keep the drive at about 12 hours or less. So mainly looking at OK, TX, or AR.

I'd highly recommend Joe Nagy's Winchester Ridge in Mountain Home, Tx where I've been a few times most recently January before last w/ my son: https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbth...s/9515017/Winchester_Ridge_2015-_feral_pJoe is kind, patient (with young hunters that is), generous, and an excellent host! Best of luck, Efw
