my friend and i leave for NM Elk unit 23.
Leaving at 4 a.m. in the morning.
It's a 19+ hour drive.
May spend the night in Roswell or wherever we get tired on the way.
Planning to pick up a bear tag also just in case.

first elk hunt for us.

Best of luck to you guys! Our ride to NM was 26 hours of cheeks in the seats + breaks. Like the others have said, it was dry and windy as the devil, however it was cold where we were at around Angel Fire.

Knock one down!

Heard on the radio we set record highs all across northern NM early this week, Monday or Tuesday. Hoping the temp drops back to normal before the beginning of Nov.
