What's not to like is that it isn't a 7-08.

Kidding. I have 3 308s here now. One is a favorite.

Very nice rifle.....

Thanks, I actually bought that blank on ebay for $35.00.
Sent the blank to Dennis Olson in Plains, Mt.

He used his pattern to turn the blank for me.

I did the final fitting and finish work. I used Art aka Sitka Deer's warm epoxy finish method then sent to Tim Smith Lyon for checkering.

Funny, I have the same exact thing going on right now. Purchased a semi inlet blank on ebay, shapped it, oil finish and currently with Tim

All but the Remington 700 .243 are favorites. And I'm working on that one. If I was obsessive of the looks of them I'd never take them out of storage. They are tools!

Ok that 770 loan collateral rifle I was obligated to buy back from a friend of my deceased brother is a pos. I finally have a boat gun that is never gonna become a hunting rifle as the last two did ( they turned out to be really good shooters!)

Come to think of it that 770 may be the best looking rifle I have...... smile

Took this out for "sight-in" day today. Snapped a cell phone picture while I was at it. 6lbs, 12oz as shown. Balances just behind the front action screw at the floor plate hinge. Pretty handy to grab and carry right around the front receiver ring.

The old eyes ain't what they used to be. However, I think I should be able to put a fat doe in the freezer at the ranges I typically hunt here on the farm.

And yes BSA... This project is all your fault... smile

Neat rifle. Were you able to zero it with the factory front sight? My 30-06 featherwight shot high.

I've always liked the Sendero SFII's too. Brushed stainless with blackened flutes is nice. This one's been bedded in Steel Bed and Jewell trigger in 7mmRM. Shoots 168VLD's around 1/2".

I've been known to favor a certain Remington 30-06 for a couple decades
