Question ... both being straight-gripped 1895s, will the butt stock for a 1895 Guide Rifle fit the Cowboy Rifle? Anyone try it?

The point would be to gain the recoil pad without having to do a bunch of cutting / fitting (I don't have a grinder or appropriate saw handy and I don't want to do a hack job) without a long wait at the gunsmith.

Will it work?
