I have just this night purchased these first two items, they will go with my 1958 Brno model 5...the single shot adapters, the peep sight, fore sight, and the fore sight inserts are all 1950's era Brno manufacture.

It has taken just over twelve months to source and scrape together the parts...next is a trip down south to see a fellow to do a little work on the foresight before taking the whole kit and caboodle out to the sand-dunes for some much deserved fun on rabbits.

I also have a Zeiss 10x C series for the rifle, but am not inclined to use it as I just like using iron sights for the fun of it.

Thinking I may as well have a walnut box like the inserts box made up to house the peep, a single shot adapter, and a five shot magazine...just a bit deeper and milled to accept the aforementioned.

And giving serious consideration to putting in for a suppressor permit to go with the ensemble...it would go well in a milled slot in the same box.

Man, my wife is going to be pissed...but our daughter will be thrilled!

Basically ditto here.. Only one rifle with irons and I had to put a F/O on the front sight to see the dang thing. (Marlin 1894)... only use it for short (as in "very short") range deer hunting.. laugh

Already have. Early doe season last weekend I used a Marlin 336 bored out to 38-55 with a cast bullet. Sights are a Skinner Express peep with a fiber optic green front. Hit right where I was aiming

I'll be carrying my Shiloh Sharps in .45-70 and using the barrel sights.

See if I can't take a doe at least.

pulled the scope off of my 77/44 and replaced it with a NECG peep for use in the woods this fall.

also have a Ruger No 1 in .405 that wears irons which i will carry some; front sight was swapped out to a hi-viz bead & i like that combo.

already have!

I was in my LGS a couple weeks ago and spied this saddle ring carbine. A 20-25 yr. old Interarms model 92 in 38Special.357 mag. Near as I could tell it had never been fired.

Well I cured that in short order.

yup,

a JHP in 357 Mag. will do fer a bunny!

If I get one deer early in the season then I will use my old Ithaca Hawken with .490 round balls on the second one. The sights are what came on it originally. Should do well out to about 100 yards off of the sticks.

Absolutely, I love iron sight hunting:

1886 Turnbull 50-110 W/Blackpowder
C-Sharps 50-90 W/Blackpowder
Shiloh Sharps 45-110 W/Blackpowder
Shiloh Sharps 45-70 W/Blackpowder
1886 Winchester 45-70 W/Blackpowder
Shiloh Sharps 40-65 W/Blackpowder
Adcock Custom 58 cal Hawken W/Blackpowder

Iron sights, Blackpowder and cast lead or paper patch bullets go together like a 9 course prime rib dinner. cool

I use iron sights on all my shotguns.

Follow up on previous post. I got a nice six point today at about 75 yards using the Remington pump 44/40. Shot went through the ribs and out the other side. Meat in the cooler makes me smile.
