What scope do you guys use on your 22lr or 22wmr? I currently have a leupold vxII 2x7x33. Although its clear and light, my aging eyes are having trouble seeing the target. I spot them with my 8x binoculars and when I raise my scope it's difficult to find. I'm thinking about going to a 3x9 but will it be that much more of an improvement? Thanks for your input.

I use a Burris FFII with Ballistic Plex in 3x9....never found a better Rimfire scope!

Leupold VX2 4-12x40 AO w/ fine duplex crosshair. Being able to focus in clearly at 30 yds, makes a big difference.

The standard Burris FFII 3-9x40 with ballistic plex works well for big game hunting too..... Just sayin. I have a Nikon rimfire 4-12x40 on one of my 22WMR's and an old steel tube weaver k4. Both work very well, but the 4-12x40 brings them into view a lot closer. Better is some ways for my crappy eyes...

Kahles 2-7x36 rimfire if you can find one. IMO, ideal rimfire scope.

Leupold 3-9x33 EFR is a good one, great for close work, like on my 50' indoor range. Notice how I set the Leupold base back to accommodate the short ER.

Both are great squirrel scopes. This 10-22 has a can on the Walther barrel. VERY quiet with subsonics... shocked

Airgun makes more racket.

Another 3-9x33 EFR on an unusual CZ, the model 2500 with 29" barrel. Thanks to that LONG barrel, it's pretty quiet with subsonics, even without a can.

Red metalic paint is a tad gaudy, but prettier than the OEM birch finish. It was already painted when I got it.

Not as accuate as the Cooper, but pretty close.

I'm a big fan of the discontinued Leupold 6X Compact with AO and the Leupold DOT reticle ....have it on several of my squirrel rifles. Many of the ones mentioned here though are exceptional.

Thanks for the replies. I'm thinking 3x9 on my 22lr and 4x12 on my 22WMR. Both are CZ's 452 Americans.

I think the adjustable objective that goes down to 10 meters or so makes the image crisper. Leupold efrs, and Bushnell 4200 had nice AO and crisp glass.

if a burris 6X hunter scope can be found, with AO, works good for a squirrel gun. they had a target & a hunter model. both works.

I use a Bushnell Legend Ultra HD 3X9. The only side focus 3X9 scope that I am aware of. I find the side focus much easier to adjust than an objective focus.

I have a Bushnell Trophy (Japan) 1.75-5 on my Marlin 980. Great glass, but I head shots in squirrels I find alittle challenging. Going to mount a Redhead Revenge 2-7 on it and see how that works for me.

My son has a Sightron scope on his .22lr and it has a dot reticle. I've shot it several times at targets (never hunted with it) but I do like it.

I had one for years....definitely one of the best rimfire scopes ever made....
JMO of course but I don't care for AO dials on a hunting scope either...for the life of me I can't imagine the need to stop and dial in my objective when hunting small game with a 22LR.....the paralex is set at 50yrds on the majority of rimfire scopes and that's fine with me.....KISS....

Weaver Classic 3-9x. I keep the objective ring set on 50M when walking around, and adjust the parallax when sitting if I have time to nuts with it. 1972-vintage BRNO Model 2. Getting it in position to clear the rear sight taxed the possibilities of the mount and scope.

That scope does look good on that rifle.

Glad that it is working out for you.

But I did notice that the bolt for the rifle is on the wrong side.
