I might have been too quick on the trigger but it is what it is..... It was my first sit of the year, 2 hours into it he ran to the base of the stand. I grabbed the bow and drew it, he took two bounds and stopped to look back. The pin settled on the boiler room and I squeezed 'er off.

Beautiful buck, congrats!

They say everything happens for a reason. For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

Was he chasing or anything ,just wondering if they are starting My wife saw a nice buck dogging some does while walking the dog Sunday morning. I went out this morning for 3 hours didnt see a thing. There is a cold snap coming to the NE, things should be getting good real soon. Halloween is always good. To the original poster, nice buck!

I'd have taken that shot, easily. Congrats!

Was he chasing or anything ,just wondering if they are starting For what it's worth, the younger bucks ( 1.5 yo) are starting to trail the does here in SE KS. I also have a few pics of some younger bucks sparring.

Ive bow hunted my whole life, in several countries and for many species of game.
Even with that I can say that every bow killed animal is an accomplishment. I respectfully disagree that you were too quick on the trigger. There is a dead buck that you recovered, thats a win by any measure. More antler mass is simply a bonus!
I'm about taxidermied ( is this a word) out in my life. I'm just as good with shooting does and cows today. Although I still have a passion collecting big bear skulls, and wild boar with long teeth!
Good job, no regrets, it's meat in the freezer!
