I bought this from Vince early this week and received it a couple days ago. It's Larry's model one drop point. I owned one of these before and sold it on a whim, but since regretted it. I couldn't pass on the opportunity to grab another without the wait.

The fit and finish is as good as I've seen from anyone. His grinds are flawless and well designed and the scales feel good in the hand. I really like the narrow drop point design and the swedge. This is a well designed hunting knife.

Larry's sheaths are the best I have personally seen. First off, they look awesome! Second, the design is killer. The shape lends itself to a good hand hold which is important since the knife snaps in and out with a strong click. I've never owned a knife that had a leather sheath that holds the knife so securely. The only thing I can compare it to is a Dozier kydex, the knife snaps into the sheath with the same authority.

Specs:

Oal: 7-1/4"
Blade: 3-1/2"
Cutting edge: 3-1/8"

Pics from hunting earlier

Nice. Where is the belt loop located? Is it down a bit to hold the knife up a little? Seems this works better for me than the ones that just fold the leather over at the top, letting the knife ride to low.

I agree with your assessment of Larry's work. He makes a great knife. His Bird & Trout is an exceptional design as well...one of the best I've seen for a B&T.

What blade steel? And yes, looks real nice.

CTS-B75P

I have zero experience with this steel. My only concern is how difficult it might be to sharpen. I've researched it and can't find a good answer. There isn't a lot of info out there on this steel.

FYI, Vince has another one of these listed on his site with lime green scales.

These knives in this steel, they have a very, very " toothy" bite to the cutting edge. I was impressed with them. I've admired Larry's work from the moment I met him at Blade Show. Heckuva good good guy,too & avid outdoorsman.

Great knife, but the swedges he put on the orange one make that blade look even better.

Rossi knives are excellent. Mine is in 154CM, and it's a meat cutting machine. Bit or small game, it just works.

Troutfisher Don't worry about sharpening.CTS- B75P it is not tough to sharpen. Its Carpenters version of BG42 that is now a powder steel that is very close to CPM 154 but has 1.2 percent Vanadium added to give great edge retention. The Rockwell is 62 I have used a Gatco with oil stones with no problem tuning up an edge. 75% of all the knives I make are B75P.Glad you like it.

That is a heckuva knife. Beautiful scales, excellent craftsmanship, and a great design. His large B&T is one of my favorites. A sleek and efficient performer...there ain't no fat on it at all.

I just put that knife to work on a 6x6 bull and it worked great! Touched it up on a fine stone and it's razor sharp
Love the size and shape
Thanks!
