25/06 with 100 grain ballistic tip,first pic coyote look it straight on at about 7 yards it was way uglier than that pic shows.

Other one was about quarter size exit.

I use a shotgun mostly in Wisconsin and this is the closest thing to a coyote rifle I have. 3 stands tonight and we saw 4 coyotes but went full retard on a couple.

That rifle is a cobble job. Rem 700 Short action in .223..stainless action thats been dura-coated..the barrel is a Rem. take-off Chrome Moly in .223 that I had shortened to 22" and the stock is from an early 70s vintage Model 700 BDL
The scope is some kind of Burris calibrated for the .223 and I use the gun for reduced loads ( about 22 mag level) for meat gathering and longer and less noisy gopher killing sessions.
