I have an Excalibur Xbow, for the last 4 years, and have taken 7 deer with it! I do like it, but have been looking at the New last year Mini, and shot one at the dealers the other day. the limbs are so much shorter, thats the only thing thats a pain with the one I have, the long limbs! has any of the members here owned one? the Good or Bad about it. I do know the minis are a bit harder to cock than my older one!

John,

Excalibur makes a quality bow. No doubt about it. BUT, the Micro is still over 25" uncocked and 22" cocked. 22".

My Tenpoint Turbo is 13.5" cocked!

My Tenpoint is also quieter. Recurves are louder. Especially micro sized recurves. The Tenpoint will shoot unbelievably small groups at 40 yds, and is backed by the best CS in the business. The guys at Tenpoint have been great to deal with. I broke my quiver. My fault. They sent one free of charge. I had a problem with the picatinny rail being slightly undersized when I decided to change scope rings after 2-3 seasons. They sent new rail, PLUS new brush style arrow retainer FREE.

Also, the stocks on the the Tenpoint bows are FAR more to my liking than any other crossbow stocks. They feel much more solid/steady and closer to a rifle stock than any others.

Of my buds I hunt with we have had:

Tenpoint 3
Wicked Ridge 1 (division of Tenpoint)
Horton 1(old company last yr. production. Horton now owned by Tenpoint)
Parker 2
Excalibur 1
Barnett 1

Both the Barnett and the Horton had cracked limbs in first year. Barnett was junk and got sold after repair. Excalibur is good in every way, but really wide and really loud. Too wide and too loud for me. Just not practical in tight spaces, treestands, etc. The Parkers are actually pretty good bows overall. Nothing really bad to say, other than I do not prefer the stock designs. Tenpoint just has more to like. The Tenpoints and Wicked Ridge have been accurate, and trouble free. They all have killed deer each year.

In short, you will NEVER be sorry you bought a Tenpoint. Trust me. They are a bit pricey, but it is money well spent. Cabelas has a sale starting tomorrow. Tenpoint Titan Extreme with scope for $549. It is their cheapest bow, but still a very good one. Best you will get for $550 IMO. Or get a different Tenpoint. Hook it up with a Leupold, and rock on.

I like the Turbo series for the price and performance.......

My buddie that shot the 16pt he has the new top tenpoint bow, another buddie has the next one down, they are nice Iv had tenpoint too older ones! The Excalibur Can be uncocked at the end of the hunt, string can be changed in the field if need be, I like that! Im just thinking about at the end of the year putting one in a LayAway at Jays and paying on it thru the summer! Might go tenpoint or Excalibur, still pondering! a Buddies wife shot his new $1200.00 tenpoint the other day at a large 6pt buck the end of the limb caught the rail on the tree stand, lets just say its not pretty anymore!
